Wednesday Sep 23, 2020
Wednesday Sep 23, 2020
Hello, and thank you for joining us for another inspirational moment with C. Melita Webb. Today we talk about identifying the battles we must give our energy and attention too. I share a great lesson my sister taught me.
As we get older, we get a little slower and no longer have that 300% energy. So I have learned that I don't need to waste my energy on small issues or issues I have limited or no control over. I think this is one of the best lessons I ever learned. Come enjoy our conversation.

Common Courtesy
Tuesday Sep 22, 2020
Tuesday Sep 22, 2020
Today we open the can and let out the junk in America. I am sending a plea to stop the craziness, microaggression, and conflict inciting behaviors. People are attacking strangers, blocking cars with their bodies, automobiles, and in one unbelievable case, with her grandchild in a stroller. Others are accosting strangers for no apparent reason other than the color of their skin.
Some of the attacks are violent. People are throwing things, spitting on people, hitting toddlers, and kids. One man on an airplane slapped a stranger’s toddler. We are reaching new lows.
We need to approach the people that we know who are perpetrating these crimes and help them understand that these are not good or healthy behaviors. It's exhausting, stressful, and it's too much for a ”civilized society.”
Corrections: the children aged 12 & 17 who were handcuffed were in Colorado and it's different that the parents handcuffed and treated over the dollar store doll incident in Phoenix. The firefighter who spit on toddler was in Kansas City, he was reinstated.

Processing Loss and Grief
Thursday Sep 17, 2020
Thursday Sep 17, 2020
Today we talk about different aspects of grief and share ways to support someone dealing with loss. We acknowledge that previous hurts often skew people's emotions.
In reality the loss of life, jobs, relationships, and other dramatic changes can invoke various symptoms of grief. Often we are experiencing loss or grief, and it feels like a different emotion that we may not be able to translate or understand.
I share some ways to process loss by writing, coloring or drawing, baking, talking, and helping others.

Perception, Communication and You
Wednesday Sep 16, 2020
Wednesday Sep 16, 2020
Hello and thank you for joining us for another inspirational moment with C. Melita Webb. Today we are looking at ways to be sure we are listening with our hearts and not assuming we understand everything said, seen, or happening.
We talk about the need to ask for clarification in conversations. It is much better to ask for clarity than to try answering a question or responding to what we think we hear or see. Everyone sees life based on their experiences.
I think our goal should always be to operate with clarity in mind. We also need to understand that not every word spoken has an ulterior motive. Let‘s set a goal of giving each other the benefit of the doubt.

Dreams of Unity
Saturday Sep 12, 2020
Saturday Sep 12, 2020
Today we talk about a few issues that have considerably affected my life: humanity, race relations, and social issues.
My greatest wish is to change the world and make a difference. I would love to see everyone have the same rights and options for life. I speak about two audiobooks that I'm listening too. One book is "The Warmth of Other Suns," and the second book is "What This Cruel War Was Over."
I also share how different events affected my view of life in America. I also mention Rosie the Riveter, WW1, and the 1987 South African movie about Steven Biko: Cry Freedom.
One of the reoccurring themes of both books is how fears cause a divide and make issues seem worse than the reality of the situation. I share how traditions and knowledge can be embraced as the beauty of diversity. We do not need to fear each other.
Thank you for

You Are Not Alone
Friday Sep 11, 2020
Friday Sep 11, 2020
Hello, and welcome to another episode of Inspiration with C. Melita Webb. Today, we discuss the connectivity of humanity and how our struggles help us become empowered to help others heal.
I believe that what we face is not new but variances on trials that other people encounter. Sometimes we meet someone struggling with similar issues, problems, or questions, and we feel a kindred spirit. Other times we find that someone across the world is thinking or doing something that we are thinking of doing, and the occurrence helps us see that we are never alone even when we think we are.

Taking the Time to Heal
Tuesday Sep 08, 2020
Tuesday Sep 08, 2020
Hello, and thank you for joining us for a few inspirational moments with C. Melita Webb. Today we discuss defining our actual feelings and taking the time we need to heal from invisible injuries and emotional pain.
We suggest speaking with the other party or writing a letter to get your feelings heard. In this way, we treat emotional wounds like we would treat physical damage.
The analogy given is emotional healing is equal to triple antibiotic ointment. Our adequately caring for emotional injuries before moving forward on our journey ensures that we don't carry unnecessary baggage.

Hello and thank you for sharing a few minutes of your day with Inspirations with C Melita Webb. Today we discuss the information I learned from listening to the book “It Didn't Start With You,“ by Mark Wolynn and a few articles on Epigenetics, Generational Trauma and Shared pain.

My review of the book It Didn’t Start With You
The book “It Didn’t Start With You” is eye opening and it can be life-changing. Deep thoughts on how generational issues can be inprinted on the following generations DNA. If you love self-help and are open to viewing your life honestly, you will get something out of this book. This would be a great mother and adult-child Book to read and discuss. Enjoy! |
